Special Elevator FAQs

What is the difference between a special elevator and a standard elevator?

A standard elevator is designed for ordinary buildings. A special elevator is engineered for a specific condition, such as explosive gas, heavy dust, moisture, high temperature, sterile space, a slope or a ship, and its structure and protection are designed for that condition.

Which industries need an explosion-proof elevator?

Any site where flammable gas, vapor or dust may be present, for example chemical plants, petroleum facilities and some power or processing sites. Our explosion-proof elevator is customized to the hazard level of each site.

Can a mine elevator work in dusty and humid conditions?

Yes. Mine elevators are built for these conditions and combine explosion-proof, dust-proof and moisture-proof protection. Please send us your shaft and site details so we can confirm the right configuration.

What is an IP elevator, and when should I choose it?

An IP elevator is an industrial lift with higher protection against dust and water. It suits factories, cement plants, steel mills, hydropower dams and similar damp or dusty places. See the IP elevator page for its main uses.
