Long side direction is meant for placing stretcher/rope arrays either in horizontal or vertical position. On the other hand, width direction is meant for extending the array in either horizontal or vertical position. Such features ensure safety of workers while handling the materials on the platform. Ideally, the long side-directional elevators are used when the platform can be accessed through the top of the building. On the other hand, the width-directional elevators should be used when the platform can be accessed through the bottom of the building.
